Emergency Dispensing

If you need a repeat‑prescription medicine in an emergency outside of your GP surgery’s opening hours, our pharmacist will assess your situation to determine whether the medicine is needed immediately and whether it has been prescribed for you previously by your GP.
Wessex Pharmacies - Helping the local community in Alresford, Christchurch, Weymouth and beyond.
Book Now
In the event that you require a repeat prescription medication in an emergency, outside your GP surgery hours, our pharmacist will assess your condition to determine whether there is an immediate need for the medication and whether you have previously been prescribed the medication by your GP.
For your protection, our pharmacist will only make an emergency supply in line with the Medicines and Ethics guidance and in some instances may decline a request for an emergency supply where it is not deemed necessary. In cases of uncertainty the pharmacist may direct you to your nearest hospital or Walk In Centre for assistance.
If you require medical assistance or advice outside our pharmacy hours you should contact your local police station or hospital.
You may also contact NHS UK on 111 or head to 111 online right now.
